SEXYBLACK TUESDAY: Re-Release (sort-of): My Girl, IVANA SANTILLI

Ivana's new album, Santilli, is a re-packaging of sorts of her best album to date, TO.NY.  On Santilli, Ivana returns to the club with some new joints "Your Girl Tonight" and "Letting Go" along with six tracks from the poorly-marketed TO.NY from last year (a couple of the TO.NY tracks have been remixed).
If you like club joints, pick it up.  But if you want Ivana Santilli doing what she absolutely does best, RUN, don't walk, to the store and pick up TO.NY which is a practically flawless, sensitive, amazing album featuring the amazing production, writing, and background skills of The Messengers (Adam Messinger and NASRI).  Both records are available in stores now giving you a choice:  If you like Club joints, Belly, and Danny Fernandes (never return to this blog [j/k]) and go buy Santilli.  If you like urban music with feeling and amazing lyrics and performances, buy TO.NY.  Or just buy whichever album you think has the hottest cover.  At this point, I couldn't decide, so I have both.

Drake's "Better Than Good Enough" Documentary in it's Entirety

Part 1

History is happening RIGHT NOW.  We are all witnesses.  This doc gives you some incite into your favorite rapper's favorite rapper.  The doc continues after the jump.  Enjoy...

Celebrities pay hommage to Michael in year 1 A.M. (After Michael)

"On a scale of 1 to 10, ...10 passed away last summer.  So everybody, from here on out, can only be 1 to 9.9." - Bun B

"Anyone who says that Michael Jackson didn't affect their music, they just don't know HOW he did." -- Joel Madden of Good Charlotte

It's been a year, Mike.  Guess you're not coming back...

SEXYBLACKS RANDOM ACTS PLAYLIST BREAKDOWN

  • Farewell My Summer Love by Michael Jackson -- It's been a year without Michael, and it's the first day of Summer.  I always loved this song.  It really captures the tender feeling of young love.

  • Never Can Say Goodbye by The Jackson Five -- Still can't say goodbye to Michael.  Classic.

  • Camouflage by Brandy -- Brandy recently admitted to not being focussed on her last album, Human.  She is right.  That album wasn't the greatest, but this song did stand out.

  • The Morning Papers by Prince -- One of my all time FAVORITE Prince songs.  Lyrically amazing:  "Should we ask the moonlight on your face, or the raindrops in your hair?  Or should we ask the man who wrote it there in The Morning Papers?"  Amazing guitar solo, as usual.

  • Faster by Janelle Monae -- This album (Archandroid) is one of the best of the year by far.  It is SO Creative!!!!  For those who are curious, here's a sampling.  By far not the best track, but it gives a good impression of what the rest of the album is.  Janelle is a superstar.

  • This Is Us by Keyshia Cole -- This is just a good song.

  • Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart by Alicia Keys -- One of my favorite songs of last year.  The other was Maxwell's Pretty Wings.  These two songs stood out as the most memorable of 2009.

  • She Wants Me by Dru Hill -- This song reminds of How Deep.  A little sample of the upcoming InDruPendence Day.

  • Take It From Here by Justin Timberlake -- Another classic joint from his classic Justified release.
So I've taken the Autoplay off, because some people complained that they could get in trouble at work or something.  So to make your day better by listening to any of those tracks, just push either red button on the vintage Nintendo controller.  For volume up or down, click on the up or down arrow.  To change tracks, click on the left or right arrows.  Enjoy.  Again, feedback is encouraged and welcome.

Sinbad Lives...

A few months ago... Twitter reported that Sinbad was dead.
Well, not only is he alive but he just RECENTLY recorded new stand-up.

Enjoy, in it's entirety.  10 years later, he still got it.

This Just In...

DRAKE'S THANK ME LATER is (unfortunately) incredibly DISAPPOINTING.
EMINEM'S RECOVERY is his BEST album in YEARS and is the BEST rap Album this year!!!!

I've previewed both.  All of Drake's mixtapes kill Thank Me Later.  I guess the wheels fell off.
After, his crappy Relapse album, Em returns and he is on some new *ish.  Seriously, his flow, his lyrics, this album should have been call REBORN instead of Recovery.  I haven't heard a song that I didn't like.  Unlike Drake's album -- You've already heard the best of that album, the singles Over, Find Your Love, and his joint with Jay-Z, Light Up.  That's it, nothing else to look forward to.  Em has about 10 potential singles on his album.

Just letting you know...

P.S.:  Thanks to Yugi for the hookups.  You complete SEXYBLACK.

Throwback Video of the Month: SWV -- Use Your Heart

This is one of my favorite songs off of their last record.  They're working on their comeback album, it needs to pick up right where this song left off.
